This early-1990s Toshiba Shibaura horizontal boring mill underwent complete mechanical and electrical refurbishment to restore and enhance its performance.

The machine was upgraded with new ballscrews, slideway regrinding, and Turcite replacement to ensure precision and long-term reliability. A 60-tool automatic tool changer was added to increase productivity and flexibility.

On the control side, a new Heidenhain TNC-530i CNC system was integrated, along with a fully updated electrical power distribution panel (PDP) and cabinet air conditioning to improve stability and system longevity.

The result is a modernized machine with significantly improved accuracy, efficiency, and performance—at a fraction of the cost of a new replacement.

This VDF CNC lathe, with over 20 years of service, underwent a complete mechanical and electrical overhaul to bring it up to modern-day speed, accuracy, and performance standards.

The rebuild included slideway regrinding, Turcite renewal, and turret hydraulic refurbishment to restore precision and durability. On the electrical side, the machine was upgraded with a brand-new power distribution panel (PDP) cabinet and a Fanuc 18i-T CNC system, complete with new motors and drives—delivering enhanced control, responsiveness, and reliability.
